Effect of Al on the Solid Reaction between 3CaO·Al <sub>2</sub> O <sub>3</sub> Oxide and Fe–S–O–Al Alloy at 1373 K

Diffusion couples of 3CaO·Al 2 O 3 and Fe–S–O–(Al) alloys are prepared to investigate the transformation calcium aluminate reacting with solid sulfur‐containing alloys. behaviors reaction between alloy phase slag under 1373 K studied. Product layers 12CaO·7Al CaS formed at interface. After heating for 10 h, average thickness layer in samples without Al is 2.10 0.71 μm, respectively, while it increases 3.76 1.75 μm after 50 h heating. Aluminum makes interface easier happen, meanwhile inhibits formation by promoting suppresses diffusion sulfur.
